If your Terracotta Floor is in need of cleaning and resealing… then you’ve come to the right place.
Are you looking for a Professional Floor Cleaning Company to restore your Terracotta Floors? Do you need your Terracotta Floor Tile Cleaning and Sealing? At Bailey’s Floor Care we can restore the former glory back to your Terracotta Floor tiles using our knowledge and experience. Covering Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire (Including Kenilworth & Leamington Spa) and Northamptonshire.
We’ve been providing Terracotta floor cleaning and sealing since 2006 and have achieved some excellent results for our clients when we’ve cleaned and sealed their terracotta floor tiles. Using our experience gained over many years we can assess your Terracotta floors and give you an honest appraisal of what can be achieved. A lot of the time the main problem with terracotta floors is the old seals have ‘yellowed’ or have actually worn out allowing dirt and soils to absorb into the tile. This will show as ugly, dirty floors that are really difficult for most homeowners to clean themselves.
Having your terracotta floors professionally deep cleaned ensures complete removal of no only the old seals but also of all the grime that’s built up in the tile. Then a thorough rinse of the clay tile before re-sealing the tile to your desired finish.
We offer two different ways to seal your terracotta floors, both with their unique finish.
Impregnator Seal: this is where a colour enhancing seal is applied to the terracotta tile, which soaks into the clay tile and seals the tile from within.
The benefits of using an impregnating seal are:
- Good colour enhancing of the tile
- Repels oil and water spills and prevents absorption into the tile.
- A natural, velvety look to the tile.
The limitations of using an impregnating seal are:
- It does not offer the surface of the tile any protection against scratches from furniture legs or stones stuck in shoes…
- The surface of the tile is usually unchanged and mopping will need more effort.
Topical Seal: This is where a colour enhancing seal is applied to the surface of the terracotta tile, which provides a surface coating, a barrier between the tile and the footfall on the floor, not to mention the helping to prevent damage to the tile from furniture legs.
The benefits of using a topical seal are:
- Good colour enhancing of the tile
- Easy-to-clean surface to the tile
- Offers a protective coating to the surface of the tile.
- Gives a nice shine to the Terracotta tile.
The limitations of using a topical seal are:
- It’s a sacrificial coating so will take the brunt of foot traffic and furniture feet.
- It’s a sacrificial coating so will need to be stripped, cleaned and re-sealed at some time in the future.
